As you enter Gol-Gummbaaj you can see 6 tombs, Middle one is the tomb of King Mohammad Adil Shah, Beside is the tomb of Dancer Rambhavaati followed by 1 Grandson and 2 Granddaughters and lastly Kings Wife. The real tombs are located below in the basement and are accessed by a staircase under the western entrance. For security reasons Entry to the same is forbidden.

Please move into the centre of the hall, and look around you. The hall that you are standing in, is square-shaped at the bottom and becomes a Pentagonal, 8 -sided structure as it moves up and ends up like a dome. Can you observe that? We can see 8 intersecting arches and is called pendentive principle.

You will notice around 58 ventilators for good ventilation and light for most of the day. The windows are built so that the first ray of the sun can be curved and fall over the grave.
